Stay Up-to-Date to Keep Your License
This is a reminder for all licensed school administrators in Minnesota about continuing education (CE) requirements to renew your license.
Complete 125 hours of CE within 5 years of getting your license renewed.
Each CE program must be at least 3 hours long.
Choose programs approved by the Board of School Administrators (BOSA).
Take BOSA-approved courses or workshops.
Take classes (with a passing grade) at a regionally-accredited college or university.
One semester credit = 20 CE hours
College courses don't need BOSA approval
It's your responsibility to collect records of your CE hours.
This can include BOSA certificates or official college transcripts.
Make sure they're from the past five years.
Submit your records to your school district for them to be entered into a database.
Inactive administrators: Contact your previous district or your current residence district to submit your hours.
Private, charter, or international school administrators: Contact the BOSA office to submit your hours.
